Audience

The audience are the most important people in the media world. It is them who, listen or buy said products and are the main source of income.
Audience go into different groupings that depend upon things such as: class, ethnicity and income.

Social economic groups:
All people fit into social economic groups. These groups are labelled in different bands and mainly focus upon the class that a person is.
A- Upper middle class such as high ranking managers or won business.
B- Middle class such as normal managers in companies.
C1- Lower middle class such as junior managers or supervisors.
C2- Skilled working class such as skilled manual workers.
D- Working class such as unskilled manual workers.
E- These are the lowest level of subsistence and these will include unemployed or on a low income.

Psycho graphics:
Psycho graphics are another type of group. Although this group shows more about personalities and aims rather then wealth and class.
There are five main types of psycho graphics:

Succeeder's- People who think they are powerful and successful.
Main Streamers- Go with life. They are average and don't particularly want to stand out.
Aspirer's: People who strive for more. They want a better lifestyle and are not afraid to work hard to achieve it.
Careers- Loving and caring. These people have a social concious and care more about family and others.
Individualists- Independent. They prefer to be alone and not part of the crowd.

Analysis of Survey

For my task of creating a music magazine I used a online survey called Survey Monkey to ask my target audience about their interests in music and what they like to see in music articles.
By doing this I can analyse the results that my classmates and target audience said and base my music magazine around their interests and so make my magazine more appealing.
The online survey analyses the results of my ten questions that I set.

Above is the link to my survey page. It is here that you will find all of the results of the questions that I asked.

My survey will show that all of the recipents that took my quiz were female, even though i sent my survey to both male and females.
The ages of the people that took my survey were all under 18, this means that they are all probably familiar with different music genres and have more then likely read a music magazine of some kind before.
It was interesting to find that out of that ten, half bought music magazines. This is positive becasue it means that out of the people that do buy music magazines they can give me good feed back as to what they like to see in a music magazine.
Even so it also says that 40% of the people that did say they bought music magazines, the only bought them every other month, with 10% saying that they bought them roughly once a month.
One of my questions that I asked was what do people like to read about in a music magazine. This was a important question to ask because I can see the topics that are popular with the age range I am making the magazine for and include these.
My survey told me that a large majority like to read about latest news and gossip, followed by interviews and then music and bands.
Of course the main aim for my music magazine is for it to sell if I published it on the shelves. As I have made my age range for this magazine 16 and over, I do not want to make is so expansive so that people won't buy it. It is even more crucial for people of this age that a magazine does not cost a huge amount because a lot of people may not be in full time employment.
I aswked how much a person would be willing to pay for a magazine and a majority said £2-3 so I will make sure this is how much I roughly make my magazine.
An equal amount of people said that there favourite genre of music was rock, indie and pop.
